3rd Week: Puppies start feeding one on one with solid dog food and will be introduced to loud bangs daily to simulate gun fire during feeding. We also take the puppies outside their pen to introduce them to the ranch and all it has to offer. Our ranch animals will also be introduced to them at this time. Play time will begin with our kids during this time as well to continue the socialization with humans. 4th Week: The puppies will start to go outside often and are introduced to wings, shed antlers, as well as tools used for training along with
continued simulated gun fire. Walks and exploring time using wings and
different scents to build confidence. Water will also be introduced on our three ponds at our ranch. More socializing and play time with other animals and kids will be done as well. 5th Week: The puppies will transition from the whelping pen to their own kennel which is right next to moms. Puppies will be more active needing more exercise while they continue to be weened off their mother to puppy food. Mom will start to have limited contact during the day; however, she will stay with them at nights. More socializing and play time with other animals and kids will be done as well.
6th Week: Mom and most puppies will have limited contact and some may even be totally weened from mom, allowing for them to go to their new homes. This week we are able to start to see their individual performance and drive. We start to work with each pup individually on basic commands, sit, stay, etc. Simulated gun fire is still used along with the introduction of more scents and tools. Puppies receive their first round of vet recommended shots with de-wormer, heart guard, and have a full checkup. Puppies will be introduced to live birds, if available, Quail or chicks are used to see instincts. Puppies start to fed one on one at this time again for good eating habits as they will start to go home in the next week and to make sure they are eating the proper amounts of food. 7th Week- All puppies can start to go home if I feel they are able. Puppies are also introduced to more early training
for biting, barking and good eating habits in the home with one on one
feedings continued. Pups by now are playing hard and have been introduced to all types of situations and objects to help them with early
development. 8th Week: All puppies can go to their new homes and will leave with AKC registration application, a bag of puppy food, collar, chew toy, and puppy blanket, which is very important because it will have been used while bonding with litermates and the scent of mom and sibling on it. Its now up to you to train and love an amazing companion for the rest of their life. <script type=”text/javascript”>
